What is your personal vision for your work and for the organization?
My personal vision as head of finance is to provide strategic financial leadership that strengthens transparency, accountability, and sustainable growth within the organization. I aim to build a financially resilient institution through accurate reporting, effective resources management and prudent decision-making that supports operational excellence and long-term development. I am committed to fostering a culture of ethical financial practices, enhancing efficiency through modern systems aligned with the organization's mission, goals, and service to its stakeholders.

As a member of the organization, I have observed significant positive transformation both within the community and inside the organization itself. The community has become more socially connected with the organization. There is a greater confidence level from the community dealing with the organization due to the current systems of transparency from the organization. The community once again feels part of an active stakeholder group of the organization due to the level of service delivery the organization offers them. On the side of the organization it has grown stronger in structure, service delivery, accountability and impact.

I ensure effective collaboration amongst team members and dispense my role in truth, love and respect. I have ensured that transparency, compliance, and ethical stewardship guide every process and decision in my line of work across the organization.

As an organization dealing in faith, education and health, we have impacted the community in the following ways:
Reduce social isolation, especially for youth and vulnerable groups

As head of finance for the Bridge of Hope organization I play a key leadership role by overseeing all financial activities and ensuring that resources are managed efficiently, legally, and strategically. Here are the key roles and responsibilities I carried out:
I prepare financial projections (budgets) and support other heads of units in terms of budgetary preparation and management. I ensure to monitor the effective implementation of the organization’s budget and provide prudent financial management advice.
I maintain all financial records for income and expenditure
I process and distribute payroll on the 12th of each month.
I ensure to maintain full tax compliance and make the necessary tax payments on time.
I ensure to reconcile the bank ledger monthly
I coordinate the activities of the Bridge of Hope and its in-country development partners like SLANGO and MOPED.
I write cheques and maintain a receipts system for all cheques. I enter all cheques into google sheets prior to release.
I follow expectations for documentation of petty cash distribution, reconciliation, and tracking as outlined in the petty cash policy.

Over the years I have gone through several academic training and professional programs that have significantly contributed to my skills and knowledge in order to efficiently carry out the role of Head of finance. Here is a projection of my academic background:
In 2017, I completed a Diploma course in computer science with specialization on data and report management. This course was undertaken at the then Northern Polytechnic now Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology, Makeni, Sierra Leone.
In 2019, I completed a Teacher’s Certificate from the Earnest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology, Makeni, Sierra Leone.
In 2021, I completed a professional training in SME/B-LOOP Training and Coaching Programme organized by German Cooperation Deutsche Zusammenarbeit funded by the European Union. The training is in line with business financial management with key focus on financial planning, inventory management and control, risk management, and financial reporting.
Recently, I have acquired a certificate of participation from the Sierra Leone Association of Non-governmental organizations on financial management and finance reporting systems.
I attended the Methodist Girls High School in Freetown where I acquired my secondary school education.

Early in my career, I began developing a strong foundation in professional practices through entry-level roles that exposed me to core administrative, analytical, and organizational responsibilities. I gained hands-on experience working with records management, basic financial documentation, customer or client interaction, and routine reporting tasks, which helped me build accuracy, attention to detail, and a disciplined work ethic.
As I progressed I took on responsibilities that strengthened my teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills. These roles provided exposure to workplace procedures, compliance requirements, and collaboration with supervisors and colleagues. My early career experience also enabled me to become proficient in handling tasks independently, meeting deadlines, and adapting to different working environments. Therefore, formative years helped shape my professional values, increase my confidence, and prepared me for more advanced responsibilities as my career developed. Here are my work experiences:
Sales Coordinator at Amvil Restaurant, Freetown from 2015-2016. As sales coordinator, I was in charge of designing and managing financial systems and procedures along with accurate financial reports of income and expenditure. I ensure that taxes are well calculated and timely payments made to the respective relevant institutions. It was also in my role to ensure proper management of stock in order to enhance accountability.
Teaching at the Earnest Bai Koroma Experimental Junior Secondary School during the 2018/2019 academic year. As a teacher I ensure to instill discipline amongst my pupils. I prepare good lesson notes and teach based on the course content as determined by the Ministry of Education. I ensure to maintain a healthy professional relationship with my pupils that gives me satisfaction seeing them become useful citizens.
Owner of RASHMA Enterprise. Since I have gained significant business management and Financial skills, I decided to establish my own enterprise that is in the activities of beverage and food distribution. Over the years my expertise has helped sustain the business by ensuring prudent cash flows, budget management, inventory control, and proper financial records.
Guidance Counselor at the Bridge of Hope from 2023-March,2025 attached to the NCC School, Makama. Due to my experience working with children and my passion to help them grow to become useful citizens, I decided to pick up the role of a guidance councilor. During this period I work to build a strong relationship between the pupils and their sponsors. I also provide guidance to pupils and engage with their parents and care givers through home visitation to ensure the pupil’s wellbeing. I coordinate the return of pupils who have left schooling, especially the girls. I also work closely with the Girls Empowerment Movement in our schools to tell them about Jesus, to teach them about personal hygiene and the importance of girl child education.
Head of Finance, the Bridge of Hope from April 2025 to date. Working as the head of finance ,I ensure to maintain the general financial wellbeing of the organization. I provide profitable financial advice, prepare financial records and advise other heads of units on budgetory issues. I also ensure that tax obligations are properly computed and paid to the relevant institutions in a timely manner. I ensure that finances are disbursed as and when necessary for the intended purpose and documentations captured for reporting purposes.
