Antionette Koroma

Head of Women’s Programs and School Chapels

What is your personal vision for your work and for the organization?

My vision as Women Director at The Bridge of Hope is to build a strong institute and training center that equips women with practical skills, creates employment opportunities, and helps them become financially independent. I desire to see women empowered both spiritually and economically so they can live with confidence, dignity, and purpose.

Through training and discipleship, my goal is to equip women with practical skills alongside godly values that will help transform their lives, their families, and their communities. I envision women gaining knowledge, confidence, and financial independence through various skill-development programs that enable them to support themselves and contribute meaningfully to society.

Another important part of my vision is to see women transformed through the Word of God, growing in faith and becoming a blessing to their families, the church, and the wider community. I aim to raise strong women of faith who will mentor, disciple, and guide other women in their spiritual journey.

I also hope to build a fellowship where women support, encourage, and pray for one another, creating a strong network of unity and faith within the ministry. Additionally, I want to help women use agriculture as a sustainable means to provide food for their families and improve their livelihoods. By using farming as a tool for empowerment, women can practice hard work, stewardship of the land, and glorify God through responsible care of the resources He has given us.

Through these efforts, my vision is to see women empowered spiritually, socially, and economically, becoming agents of transformation in their homes, churches, and communities.

  • As the Women’s Director at The Bridge of Hope, my role is to disciple, empower, counsel, and educate women according to biblical principles. I work closely with women in the ministry to help them grow spiritually, strengthen their faith, and develop a deeper understanding of God’s Word. Through discipleship programs and Bible teaching, I encourage women to live faithful Christian lives and to become strong examples within their families and communities.

In addition, I provide counseling and mentorship to support women through personal, spiritual, and family challenges, offering guidance grounded in biblical teachings. I also focus on empowering women by equipping them with knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills so they can actively participate in church ministry and community development. Through these efforts, my goal is to nurture spiritually mature women who can positively influence their homes, the church, and the wider community.

  • My educational background includes training in both community development and biblical studies, which has equipped me to serve effectively in ministry and community work. I hold a Diploma in Community Development Studies, which has provided me with knowledge and practical skills in community engagement, social support programs, and sustainable development initiatives that help improve the well-being of individuals and families.

In addition, I have a Diploma in Biblical Studies and a Certificate in Biblical Studies, which have strengthened my understanding of Scripture, Christian doctrine, and spiritual leadership. These studies have equipped me to teach, disciple, and guide others in their spiritual journey according to biblical principles.

I also hold a Certificate in Chaplaincy, which has trained me to provide pastoral care, counseling, emotional support, and spiritual guidance to individuals facing personal or life challenges. Together, these qualifications support my role in discipling, empowering, counseling, and educating women within the ministry and the wider community.

  • My early career involved serving in several roles that focused on community development, governance, administration, and ministry. I served as a Volunteer Coordinator with the Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), where I supported community programs and coordinated volunteers working on development initiatives.

I later worked with Man Kind Activities Development Movement (MADAM) as a Livelihood and Community Village Savings and Loan focal field staff, where I helped organize and support community savings groups, promoted financial literacy, and encouraged economic empowerment within rural communities.

I also worked with the Foundation for Human Rights and Democracy (FHRD) as a Court Monitoring Officer, where I monitored court proceedings and supported efforts to promote justice, transparency, and human rights awareness.

In the private sector, I served with Lion Rock Security Agency as Head of Finance and Secretary, where I managed financial records and administrative responsibilities. I also worked with Sunbird Company (formerly Addax Bioenergy) in Mabelefu as a Weighbridge Officer, responsible for recording and monitoring production measurements and ensuring accurate reporting.

In the area of civic service, I worked with the National Electoral Commission (NEC) as a Polling Centre Manager during the 2012 and 2018 national elections, where I supervised polling activities and ensured that the voting process was conducted in a transparent and orderly manner.

Alongside my professional work, I have remained committed to ministry and community service. I served as a Foundation Class Teacher and Sunday School Teacher in churches, teaching children and new believers about Christ and guiding them in understanding the Word of God. I have also volunteered as an advocate for women in rural communities, helping to teach them about Christ, encouraging their spiritual growth, and supporting them to understand their value and purpose in God.

These diverse experiences have shaped my passion for service, leadership, community empowerment, and faith-based transformation.
